Communication
Get to Know Your Animal
by Norma Jean BoundsCommunication
Wow! What a mouth full! But that's what showing heifers or even steers is all about. Communicating! Or a relationship with your animal. How else will they learn to do what you want. You have to teach them or communicate to them what you want and what is acceptable behavior. This is a on going process. It starts from the day you bring your animal home, and continues each and every day. Some times it can be time consuming, some times irksome, and some times just plain rewarding.
But the Best Part of the Communicating Process Is....
It's a Family Project or should be. For that's what makes it all so worth while. You are communicating with your child (and usually teenager) in those years, that communication is the hardest. It's the time you can develop a deeper relationship with your child. Why! Cause you are working together each day on a project (your heifer) you both enjoy. It's not the winning or losing, but the togetherness that makes it so great.
Togetherness:
- makes you bond closer to your child
- teaches responsiblity, intertwined with love
- makes memories untold
And memories will last a life time. So take the time to Communicate! It will pay off!
