A little Swinging B Ranch History

In 1997, we, Mackie, Norma Jean, Kent (our son) and Crystal (our daughter) Bounds moved to the little town of Axtell, Tx. We were city folks moving to the country. We had a few tiger striped cattle, and white faced baldies we were running on the 215 acres we purchased. Our children started in the Axtell ISD school, signed up for FFA, and the new ag. teacher Bill Radde, convinced our son that the only animal to show was a Beefmaster. And the rest is history. From one show heifer, we ended up getting another show heifer and then another. We ended up dispersing all our other cattle, and started up in the Beefmaster Business. With time, and years, and the help of Robert Williams, our past consultant, we have gradually worked on upgrading our herd with better quality and higher genetics. Take the time to look over our cattle. We have specialized in show heifers the last few years. Black Granite has thrown some beautiful show heifers that will be on the show circuit this fall. He is out of Black Jack and Hot Pepper Lady, which goes back to Black Magic, and Sgt. Pepper. We recently sold him at the President's Sale in Shreveport, LA. This past Spring we purchased Bullet Proof ...the next great polled Red Beefmaster Bull. With the help of Mike Green, our consultant, we are advancing toward the great fields of the more superior Beefmaster Genetics. With Bullet Proof as the premier leader in this field and advancing into the field of donor cattle and embryo calves, we hope to make a more postive impact on the Beefmaster Breed. Bullet Proof is one awesome Bull. Bullet Proof 's Sire is Bandelero and Dam is Oasis. He goes back to Desperado & Work of Art, Cherokee Phantom & Polled Beauty, King Cotton & Cain 401, Cavalier & Sex Life, Spartacus & Madera 1-5/5, and Sandman & Sex Appeal. He has one powerful blood line. And we are anxiously awaiting his calf crop to hit the ground. (Up date: June 30, 2009 ........
